Cancer Gets LOST, co-founded by Jo Garfein and Jared Wong, is a 501c3-sponsored organization* that raises money for various cancer charities via online and live auctions of rare and autographed pop culture memorabilia. We focus on channeling all fandoms toward the greater good!
CGL has worked with and donated auction proceeds to respected charities such as the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, the National Brain Tumor Society, American Cancer Society and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer.
* CGL has non-profit, tax exempt status thanks to a fiscal sponsorship by FJC: A Foundation of Philanthropic Funds.
Transparency is not just our modus operandi, it is a legal responsibility, and one that we take seriously. We are open to anyone that genuinely wants to work with CGL. Please contact us for more information.
In 2012, CGL produced and hosted a live webcast and fan party in Los Angeles with LOST alum (cast and creative); it coincided with a very successful online auction of LOST and other TV/film memorabilia, props and autographed items. 100% of the proceeds were donated directly to the National Brain Tumor Society in honor of Jo’s dear friend Jackie, who passed away in 2012 after fighting brain tumors and cancer with great spirit for four years.
In 2014, CGL partnered with Blacksparrow Auctions and together they hosted an online charity auction. 100% of the proceeds from all CGL items in the auction benefited the American Cancer Society, in support of Jo’s mother-in-law, who is battling pancreatic cancer.
Also hosted by Blacksparrow Auctions, our 2016 online charity auction benefited Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer.
Our silent charity auctions at LOST 2017 and Unity Days 2018 both benefited the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, as will our big 2018 online charity auction!
