We Have to Go Back!
Saturday, May 23 is the 10 year anniversary of the LOST series finale. Time quite literally flies! To celebrate the show, the lasting legacy and impact – Cancer Gets Lost is thrilled to be hosting a series of live 30-60 minute interviews with a few familiar faces, exclusively on our Instagram account!
Live Chat Schedule!
- 2pm PT/5pm ET: Jorge Garcia (Hurley)
- 3pm PT/6pm ET: Michael Emerson (Ben Linus)
- 4pm PT/7pm ET: Bobby Moynihan (LOST fan & proud owner of the fish biscuit machine! Saturday Night Live alum, currently starring in DuckTales, Nature Cat & Star Wars Resistance, among other VO projects!)
To watch our interviews live on May 23, simply log in to Instagram on your device of choice, follow @CancerGetsLost (if you’re not already!), and click on CGL’s logo at the top of your Instagram home page. Our logo should show as “Live” during the time slots mentioned above. You will have the opportunity to submit questions during each live session, and we will try to get to as many as we can during the allotted time!
All of our video chats with the actors will be saved permanently to our Instagram page after, in case you aren’t able to join us live! And no, we will not be posting them on FB, YouTube or any other location later.
FYI! Of course we inquired with everyone that worked on LOST that we are in contact with, so please do not @ any of the cast/crew on social media, asking why they are not involved! It is always a choice, this event falls on a weekend, and CGL does not have a personal connection to all that were involved behind the scenes & on screen.
We Have To Give Back!
Throughout the day on Saturday (not just during the live interviews), CGL will be promoting a variety of relevant health & human services-focused charities that are providing essential assistance during the pandemic, selected by each actor we are interviewing. We will be promoting the charities with links during each live chat (and links are also below), providing the opportunity for fans around to world to make donations if they are able.
- Jorge & Bobby’s charity of choice: Los Angeles Regional Food Bank**
- Michael’s charity of choice: The Actors Fund
- CGL’s charity of choice: Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation Emergency COVID-19 Fund for childhood cancer patients and their families
**Because there are local food banks in most major cities, if you make a donation any time between now and Saturday, May 30 to any regional food bank, that counts as well!
Incentive time! If you make a donation in any amount to any of the charities above (from now through May 30) AND you forward CGL a copy of your email receipt to cancergetslost at gmail dot com, we will send you a very cool custom LOST keychain (kindly created and donated by Martin E.). Quantities are limited, and styles will be randomly chosen; no special requests please.
** Due to pandemic-related high shipping costs for sending keychains internationally ($30 each), plus the individual country customs fees/duties that you’d each have to pay upon arrival – CGL will not be shipping out keychains until the costs come down. We are aiming for summer 2021, and appreciate your patience!
Plus! In a few weeks we will be placing all donation receipts in a hat and randomly selecting 23 fans to receive fun LOST items, including t-shirts, pins, signed photos and trading cards! Make as many separate donations as you like; each one will count as one entry each for our giveaway.
Yes, this opportunity to give back is open for fans around the world to participate. However! For that reason, CGL does not anticipate shipping out the keychains and other LOST items until later this summer, at the very least. We have experienced issues recently with international shipping due to the pandemic and package restrictions in various countries, and are monitoring the situation to assess when it will be safe to ship abroad again. We appreciate your patience in advance, and will keep you posted when shipping commences!
We are grateful for your support not only of Cancer Gets Lost, but of the myriad non-profits out there, trying to make a difference in the world. Your kind contributions over the last 10 years via CGL charity auctions alone have resulted in over $200,000 of donations to various cancer charities. Absolutely astonishing and appreciated! And we are nowhere near done with this journey. We Have to Give Back!
Take care of yourselves, kind friends.
