2019 CGL TV Writers Room Doodles Online Charity Auction!

The Cancer Gets Lost TV Writers Room Doodles Online Charity Auction is now open for fans around the world, from August 21-31, 2019!  It features custom doodles, sketches and more from over 35 different TV shows! 100% of the proceeds from this auction will be donated to the childhood cancer charity The Pablove Foundation.

Bidding will be open for 10 days: from 8:15am PT on Wednesday, August 21 until 3:15pm PT on Saturday, August 31!

Created on note cards, show stationary, script covers, origami and even needlepoint – the doodles have all been kindly donated by various writers rooms. The entire auction is being curated by our good friend Javier Grillo-Marxuach (LOST, The Middleman, The 100), Co-Executive Producer of the upcoming Netflix series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance!

We are honored to be able to donate 100% of our proceeds (every cent raised) from the CGL TV Writers Room Doodles Online Charity Auction to The Pablove Foundation. Pablove is a wonderful organization that invests in underfunded, cutting edge pediatric cancer research and also improves the lives of children living with cancer (through the arts). The Pablove Shutterbugs program works with childhood cancer patients to develop their creative voice through the art of photography.

PRE-AUCTION INSTRUCTIONS

• If you’d like to participate in the CGL TV Writers Room Doodles Charity Auction, you will need to please register on our external auction hosting site (32Auctions). It is FREE, fast and easy to create a new account and be eligible to bid in the CGL auction. To view all 61 items, click on the green View All Items button on the left side. In the yellow bar that appears atop the page, you will then have the option to create an account or log in if you already have one.

• To prevent potentially fraudulent activity, CGL approves each registration individually – and we are doing so quickly. Once you register, you’ll get a response back within 6-12 hours (but usually much faster)!

• You will need a PayPal account if you plan to bid on and hopefully win items in our auction. But you will also have the option of paying for items with a credit card via PayPal.

In the $0.00 USD or Other Amount box, it is your responsibility to input the EXACT amount owed for your total auction item win(s)! And then click Donate with PayPal if you already have an account, or Donate with a Debit or Credit Card if you do not have a PayPal account.

Make sure to INCLUDE SHIPPING COSTS, please! $5 for each domestic (United States) package, and $10 for each international package. If you win more than 1 item in this auction, please simply add $1 for each to your payment total.

After you have paid for your items, you’ll receive a PayPal receipt via email.

[Cancer Gets LOST has non-profit, tax-exempt status thanks to a fiscal sponsorship by FJC: A Foundation of Philanthropic Funds. You’ll see their name on our PayPal account; they control and manage it for us. Anyone that makes an auction item payment/donation will receive a tax receipt from FJC.]

SHIPPING

Once CGL has received PayPal receipts from all winning bidders and our fiscal sponsor FJC has confirmed that ALL payments have been verified, CGL will start to ship out auction items. Please allow us 3-4 weeks for this process, and thank you in advance for your patience!

• All domestic packages will be shipped via USPS, and include both insurance and tracking when available. Shipping notifications with tracking info will be emailed to winning bidders.

• All international packages will be shipped via USPS International First Class or USPS International Priority Mail. FYI: we are not able to ship to Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Sudan or Syria.

PLEASE NOTE: The winning bidder is responsible for ANY/ALL Customs and Import Duties that may apply once the CGL auction shipment arrives in your country. Please check your own country fees/duties before placing bids, and decide for yourself if you are willing and able to cover the additional fees/duties!

If you win more than one item, they will be shipped together.

Every CGL auction item and item package will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

POST-AUCTION DONATION

After ALL payments for items won in the 2019 Cancer Gets Lost TV Writers Room Doodles Charity Auction have been received, confirmed and processed by FJC, AND Cancer Gets Lost has completed shipment of all items – we will then donate 100% of the auction proceeds to The Pablove Foundation; every cent raised! We will share the total amount of money raised and donated, once that number has been finalized.

Hello, friends! We wanted to end the year by thanking you for your incredible support of our charitable endeavors, and for making financial donations both to cancer charities we support AND to Cancer Gets LOST. As most of you are aware, we now have a “Donate to CGL via PayPal” option (button on top right side of the page) – in case you might be interested in making a contribution to our charity in any amount before the end of 2015 or beyond!

We must send a shout-out of major gratitude to LOST show runner/executive producer Damon Lindelof, supervising producer/writer Javier Grillo-Marxuach and our friends at Bad Robot, who all individually donated absolute treasure troves of rare and signed items in 2015 for future CGL auctions. They are incredibly generous human beings, and we are very lucky that they kindly reached out to CGL with items that will no doubt help us raise thousands of dollars for charity. In addition, our friend Paul M. donated a majority of the autographed and rare Star Wars items for our next auction, and we are thrilled to be able to feature them in 2016. Thank you, ALL!

Our next major online charity auction will debut on 8.15.16 (three numbers familiar to LOST fans everywhere)! Hosted by our partner Blacksparrow Auctions, this will be our largest auction yet, featuring over 400 items from 30+ TV shows and 10+ films! 100% of the net proceeds from the 2016 CGL Charity Auction will be donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand in support of a cure and research for childhood cancer.

In addition, we may host a live fundraising event in Los Angeles in 2016 – will keep you posted!

Orientation: CGL Charity Webcast & Fundraising Event This Saturday (8/25)!

WEBCAST

Tune in this Saturday from noon-4pm PST as we host a live webcast with LOST alum (both cast and creative team)! Although the webcast will be streaming live online for everyone around the world to watch, the event itself is closed to the public.

During the webcast, we will be reminiscing and catching up with LOST actors and editors/producers/writers, as well as debuting a series of original videos. We will also be promoting items in our charity auction, as well as reminding viewers that they can make donations directly to the National Brain Tumor Society through specific links (which will be released tomorrow) that will count toward our overall fundraising efforts! As you know, 100% of the proceeds raised during the auction, webcast and fundraising event will benefit the NBTS. Stay tuned for details about the limited edition items we will be giving out in exchange for charitable contributions to the NBTS!

* You don’t need to be a LOST fan to enjoy the broadcast; the guests will be talking about their new films and television shows, and it is very likely that a variety of pop culture topics will be discussed!

FUNDRAISING EVENT

On Saturday at Monk Space in Los Angeles from 7pm-11pm PST, we are hosting an official Cancer Gets LOST fundraising event for the NBTS! We will be featuring LOST trivia, giveaways and more, and items from our charity auction will be on display.

You don’t have to actually be a LOST fan to attend; the event is open to everyone, and will be a fantastic social gathering of fellow pop culture nerds – all for a great cause!

ADMISSION/RAFFLE TICKETS

No advance tickets are necessary, and admission at the door will be $20 ($10 for guests under 21). 100% of all money collected will be donated to the National Brain Tumor Society! We will have separate wristbands for guests over and under 21, so please bring your ID. You may want to bring extra cash, as we have many LOST and other TV related goodies to give away via $2 raffle tickets (proceeds benefit the NBTS), there will be 2 limited edition posters for sale (also to benefit the NBTS), and there will be a food truck outside of the venue (Philly Please)!

ADDRESS & PARKING

Due to space limitations and fire codes that we must observe at the venue, only 200 guests will be allowed inside at any time. Please keep this in mind when planning your travel and evening! There is ample street parking along Western Avenue, and you will see a Cancer Gets LOST banner hanging on the outside of Monk Space. Please read street signs carefully, as the venue itself is on a primarily residential street.

** Because our #1 goal is to raise money for the cause through the charity auction, we kindly ask that you please do NOT bring items to the event to get signed by special guests – as doing so would essentially be countering our fundraising efforts via the auction. She also just filmed an arc on Gossip Girl and will be appearing in Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.
