CGL 2020 LOST Online Charity Auction Instructions!

The Cancer Gets Lost 2020 Online Charity Auction is NOW OPEN online for LOST fans around the world, from February 8 -15!

Returning to our roots, and in celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the series finale, all items in our auction are LOST related – and most are rare or signed! Items were all kindly donated by fans and actors, producers, writers, etc. Contributors include Carlton Cuse, Michael Emerson, Michael Giacchino, Damon Lindelof and many more behind the scenes!

You can registration for our charity auction at any time while it is open.

We ask that you please read all Transparency, Terms & Conditions and Shipping Restriction details BEFORE you register for our charity auction.

CGL hosts the auction itself on an external auction host site, which you can access HERE!

CGL Charity Auction Transparency: Buyer’s Premium Fee

Most auctions of this magnitude require winning bidders to pay a Buyer’s Premium fee per item, in addition to the winning bid and shipping cost. CGL has decided to cover all Buyers Premium Fees (3% per item), so that you don’t have to! Winning bidders will now only have to pay for items won + shipping. This allows CGL to donate 100% of ALL auction proceeds to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!

CGL Charity Terms & Conditions

  • There are NO refunds! 100% of the net proceeds from the 2020 Cancer Gets Lost Online Charity Auction are being donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
  • Before you start bidding on items, please take the time to read the “Terms” tab, which will be in every auction item listing.
  • Please only place bids in our charity auction if you genuinely intend to pay for items you win and have the means to do so.

**The winning bidder is responsible for ANY/ALL Customs and Import Duties that may apply once our shipment arrives in your country. Please check your own country fees/duties before placing bids and decide for yourself if you are willing and able to cover the additional fees/duties!

CGL has to adhere to international shipping restrictions. There are also a few countries that require prohibitively high customs fees when items arrive, so we try to avoid shipping there. On top of that, CGL has experienced stolen/lost shipments in several countries, and that cost comes out of our operating budget. Therefore, please check the list of countries below that we are unable to ship to, before bidding in this charity auction. Thank you.

If your country is listed below and you are still interested in participating in this auction, please contact us in advance of registration to discuss our options!

It is free, fast and easy to register for the 2020 CGL Online Charity Auction on our auction host site, which you can do HERE. We appreciate your patience, because we must approve each bidder individually. This process is necessary but quick; all approvals will occur within hours of registration (except when we are sleeping!).

Once the CGL auction ends, we kindly ask two things of you: 1) please CHECK YOUR EMAIL within 4 days of auction close and 2) return to this site and read our Post Auction Instructions for details about making payments to the CGL Paypal account for auction items won after you receive an invoice from us.

**IMPORTANT: Please register to bid using an email account that you actually check/use! It has become a challenging issue for us after charity auctions when we are unable to contact a few winning bidders because they never check the email they registered with again!

100% of all auction proceeds from the 2020 Cancer Gets Lost Online Charity Auction will be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. LLS is the largest funder of cutting-edge research to advance cures, and leading source of free blood cancer information, education and support for patients, survivors, families and healthcare professionals.

We selected LLS to receive our auction net proceeds in honor of my father, who is battling a rare blood cancer (but currently winning the battle!).

CGL Charity Auction Transparency: Fiscal Sponsor

Full disclosure: we fund Cancer Gets Lost ourselves, with our own money. Neither CGL Co-Founder Jared Wong nor I earn any money raised in any of our charity auctions (nor do we plan to). CGL is a labor of love that we work on in our spare time, outside of our full-time jobs!

CGL is a 501c(3)-sponsored organization. Our fiscal sponsor FJC, A Foundation of Philanthropic Funds (a 501c(3) public charity that provides management of charitable giving), oversees all of the financials for Cancer Gets Lost – including our PayPal account. FJC has earned a top 4-star rating on Charity Navigator!

If you win an item in the 2020 Cancer Gets Lost Online Charity Auction for a winning bid amount higher than the starting price of the item, you will automatically receive a tax receipt from FJC (which should arrive 6-8 weeks after the auction ends).

*Please see our next post (CGL 2020 LOST Online Charity Auction Payment & Shipping Details) for all Post-Auction instructions*

** Shipping note: because I am handling the packaging & shipping alone, on top of a full-time job, shipment of all CGL auction packages will take place in March 2020. It will be up to 4 weeks after you’ve paid your invoices that I am able to start shipping out items (and appreciate your patience in advance)!

If you have any questions, please email us (CGLauctions at gmail dot com).

Thank you so much for your interest and support!

Bid Together, Buy Alone!
