Hello kind CGL friends!
The 2026 Cancer Gets Lost Online Charity Auction is now closed, and thanks to the collective kindness of auction participants, CGL has raised and will be donating $33,500* to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation! Incredible generosity that will make an impactful difference in the lives of breast cancer researchers, survivors and their families. [*if all winning bidders pay their invoices]
We Have to Give Back!
CGL will be donating 100% of ALL 2026 auction proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The BCRF is the largest private funder of breast cancer research (and metastatic breast cancer research) in the world, and also the highest-rated breast cancer research organization in the country. Like so many of you, I have lost too many friends and family to breast cancer, including my aunt and grandmother. So CGL is genuinely honored to be able to support such an essential cancer organization.
**WINNING BIDDERS: Post-Auction and Payment Details
If you’ve won an item or items in the 2026 CGL Charity Auction, CGL will email you an invoice within 24 hours that includes detailed instructions and CGL’s specific payment link! Please do NOT attempt to make a payment anywhere before you receive your official CGL invoice with total final bid amounts + shipping cost. {Please NEVER attempt to make CGL auction payments on the external auction host site iCollector OR via the PayPal app/site; CGL and FJC will never see or receive that money.}
The only acceptable method of payment for CGL auction items + shipping is PayPal, which (after you receive your invoice) must be made directly to the CGL PayPal account using the Donate link on this website (which directs winning bidders to the only CGL PayPal account, managed by CGL’s fiscal sponsor FJC).
If you don’t have a PayPal account, you will be able to pay for your auction items + shipping using a credit card via PayPal!
Payment is expected in full within 7 calendar days of the day you receive an email invoice from CGL.
*When you click on the Donate button on this site above, a window/page will open that says “Donate to FJC - A Foundation of Philanthropic Funds (Cancer Gets LOST).” That is the correct and ONLY location to pay for CGL auction items + shipping!
Winning Bidder Action Items
1. After you receive and pay your invoice (within 7 days), please forward CGL your PayPal receipt.
2. Please also send CGL YOUR SHIPPING & BILLING ADDRESSES. One I need for shipping your auction package(s), and the other FJC (CGL’s fiscal sponsor) needs for tax receipt purposes.
3. Please CHECK YOUR PAYPAL name: if the name on the PayPal account you use to pay for your auction item is NOT your real full name (i.e. a nickname or name of business), you must let CGL know as soon as possible so FJC can match the payment to right name!
Post-Auction Shipping Details
ALL CGL auction packages will be trackable and insured. I will email you your tracking number(s) once your items are packaged and ready to ship.
Most small to medium packages, boxes and small flats (photos, small prints, etc.) will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail, unless the winning bid of all combined items is over $500. If so, they will be shipped via UPS Ground.
All scripts and high value auction items/packages will be shipped via UPS and require extra insurance + an Adult Signature upon delivery. These are added expenses that CGL covers for you!
If you win more than one item, I will try to combine them together in one package. The exception is posters, which must ship separately in poster tubes.
When possible, posters will be placed inside of poster tubes, and then inside of cardboard poster boxes. I prefer double protection because of too many damaged and destroyed irreplaceable posters and prints in auctions past.
With the environment in mind, CGL ships out auction items in many repurposed/used boxes. While the outside of your packages may not always look perfect, it’s what’s inside that counts!
EAST COAST winning bidders: if you live within an hour of the Boston MA area, I can arrange a drop off in person, in late May! You would not have to pay for shipping. Email CGL as soon as possible if you’re interested!
Each auction item will be accompanied by a CGL CoA (Certificate of Authenticity).
Realistic CGL Shipping Timeline
Shipping will take place in mid to late May, after CGL’s fiscal sponsor has verified all winning bidder payments.
I am quite literally a party of one and responsible for the packaging, labels, and shipping of all auction items. No complaints, just facts!
In addition, people are still experiencing longer-than-usual shipping delays from ALL shipping services (due to many events that are out of my control), so I really appreciate your patience.
Donating ALL Auction Proceeds to the BCRF!
After all winning bidder payments have been verified by FJC, AND all auction packages have been received, 100% of the proceeds from the 2026 Cancer Gets Lost Online Charity Auction will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation! This usually occurs 2 months after the auction has ended.
If you aren’t able to participate in this charity auction and/or are interested in just making a small donation to the BCRF, CGL appreciates your consideration! You can either donate via their site directly or via CGL’s Donate button above on this site, and 100% of your contribution will be included in the final post-auction donation to the BRCF (if you donate any amount between now and December of 2026 AND forward CGL your email receipt)!
CGL Transparency
Full disclosure: I fund and run Cancer Gets Lost myself. I am a full-time volunteer and have neither kept or ever earned any money raised in CGL charity auctions (nor do I plan to). CGL is a true labor of love; I am deeply proud to have dedicated my life to fundraising for myriad cancer charities!
Thank you!
Thank you for your tremendously kind support of CGL and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation! Your contributions will make an actual, impactful difference in the lives of breast cancer survivors and their families, and help fund further essential cancer research.
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions! (CancerGetsLost at gmail dot com)
